The folks finding treasure do not talk about it that's why they are successful. If you want to know who what and where learn to read between the lines. Start doing your own research and make your own decisions. There is plenty of info on the Scorpion out there but you want someone here to take you by the hand and tell you what to buy so they can be blamed when your unsuccessful.

theres a big difference between posting your finds and posting about a real treasure. The government bodies dont give a phuck about small finds of coins and jewelry, but bet your ass they'll want their share of a real treasure. Not to mention any other treasure hunters that want a piece of it. Brag or STFU? your choice. I bet Seldom can tell us his experience with the tax man and government bodies. So how did this topic get changed from some old metal detector that nobody wanted to this? lol

Man, that sure puts things into perspective. Independent thought. TGSL baby, can't wait.  Cheesy

We can only guide people and you seem to have explored all aspects of your style of hunting and
then bought the right tool for the job,

Mindshare?
I could recommend  X Y machine but if it does not suit your needs of the type of ground that you encounter
then I have just lost you alot of Money, and thats just not right,
A person needs to check out the most popular machines and then make a choice,
Personally I would not buy any machine until I could buy the best one for the job then I know that the only
weak link in the chain is me,

It happens all the time LOL but if the thread has run is course it don't matter.
Denizen got his info and decided what he is going to build so he is happy and thats what counts. The thread would have ended if mindshare hadn't jumped in whining that nobody would post videos for him LOL.

I love the IRS LOL

Looking forward to seeing how you do with your build. I hope it goes well and you post your progress. I can build anything from a house to a skyscraper (my degree is construction management) and growing up on a farm taught me how to fab up, fixup, rebuild, wtf ever machinery, but I never got into electronics and dont know chit about  it, or I'd be joining in on building one. I'll keep reading all I can on the builds here and maybe in a year or 2 I'll have the time to take an electronics course. In the meantime, I think I'll  pay some college kid to build me a PI ( a pulse 2)  for his studies at school. Then I can use it to as a base to build one on my own later and expand on its weaknesses. I have no use for a PI until I sell this house and get moved to FL anyway. I like VLF too much, nice discrimination.

and the IRS.......dont get me started! lol

I sure will post the progress. I have construction experience too! I've been in auto mechanics(i drive a classic Plymouth that i rebuilt the engine upper on), stick framing, finishing work, yard care.. you name it. I've even been a server.. no not an IRS server. Glad I could use this joke at the most opportune time! But a restaurant server. Will NEVER ever do that again. It has made me most impatient towards the demands of others.. Irony, I've been making demands here ever since I joined practically! HAHA, sorry 'bout that.

[this thread REALLY went off topic now]

Go Up Go Down

I feel a part of the family. Like the boyfriend the daughter brought home and everyone reluctantly warmed up to.. including the grumpy grandmother with her butterscotch candies and quips.  Tongue
Now the next project for me to learn is making a retractable rod with a folding handle that hits a guard when all the way up so it doesn't swing a full 180 degrees. Something, that when the electronics and coil is still attached, could fit into a small tent bag and be ready to use in a matter of seconds. oh. I think I'll use a retractable foot peg from a motorcycle and mount it on the rod. How does this sound y'all? something like this:
{alt}
Now the next issue is the upper arm brace that I can't foresee folding up at all. I would rather not have to remove any parts for travel. Minor set back.

use a set of ape hangers attached to a springer front end (8" over stock of course) if you hip mount a neck off a 1975 sportster and weld some new stops on it at 180 that should do it! and here's a tip I learned the hard way in my 20's..........when drinking and riding a motorcycle........always remember to put your feet down at stop signs! About broke my drunken leg!   Funny

Wow, you sound angry. First off, I merely was looking for true testimonials from owners of the Scorpion. There are plenty of people who post lots of information on other MD and there was no hiding any secrets on their posts.

If you don't own one then I'd appreciate only your opinion on owning one rather than dismiss my asking about it and even my questioning why anyone that has one, doesn't post info on them using it.
