Attached is a link to an article from the Bournemouth Echo from 2010.

I recognised the picture of this guy immediately. Convicted fraudster Barkley Price is a member of various forums, possibly including this one, under different names, and was Manicminer's partner in their failed attempt to open the Clogau Mine. Now that Gold Mines of Wales has moved in, Barkley has been exposed for what he is. This fool and Meirion tried to intimidate me on the Wen, I told them to get lost. Now I know why they slinked away, in too much trouble already with the law. Forums like this can do without convicted fraudsters who steal fortunes from their mates and old ladies in its ranks.

According to the article, he has done his time. It's really no concern of ours as long as there is no fraud going on here. This very thing is what got you moderated to start. Are you pushing for another round, perhaps with muting involved this time?

I suggest that you begin anew, discussing treasure hunting, prospecting and your thoughts on those areas without bringing politics or sour grapes to the table. Seriously. This is not the place for this kind of thing unless he tries to commit fraud here and we both know that's not likely.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

OK, point taken. If he doesn't go off topic I will ignore him in future.

Perfect. The Welch gold mines have been around since before Roman times. Surely there is a huge amount to discuss about them and you have seen them all. You are an asset to these forums and everyone would benefit from your reportage.

Yes, I'm driving up to prospect in a few hours, and I expect there will be something interesting to discuss. Before the Romans the Phonetians were mining for tin and copper around the coast of Wales. Not sure how far they went inland. I have found a few mysterious trial adits which are quite shallow, and aren't marked on OS. I haven't got into hard rock mining though, for various reasons.
