I am not a treasure hunter, or anything like that. But I have come into possesion of gold bars that appears to be part of a Japanese cache from WW2. These were found in a Pacific country that shall remain unnamed. I am looking for help in selling these.

Well you see there is really no market for Japanese gold. South African gold is also not the most highly sought after, However if you can get hold of some Nigerian gold, especially the stuff that belonged to a well to do old person who recently passed away and left you in charge of disposing of it. and if you where to offer me a great deal of money to help you with this...... then i would have to say...how much do you want upfront to help make this happen?
YOU ARE IN THE WRONG PLACE I'M AFRAID.
Post a pic of the bars with the markings visible that should help.

YEah I know it sounds crazy, but this isn't a joke. I just want advice that's all. In fact the only way I could sell you these pieces would be if you came here in person, so forget about the Nigerian scam jokes. Here's my story...
I am an expat living in PNG. A local came to me asking for help. While scavenging scrap iron near Rabaul he came across an old army truck. He dug underneath the truck to remove the springs. While under there he noticed a metal box fixed to the frame. When he broke through the old box, out tumbled the gold bars. They were wrapped individually in cloth. He claims there were 9 bars and several smaller pieces about the size of a bar of soap. One of these he took to an Indian merchant in Rabaul, who supposedly tested it with a machine(is there such a thing?). The store owner bought the small piece, which gave my friend enough money to buy boat fare back to our Province. He came to me looking for help because I'm an expat. I showed him on the internet what the price of gold is, and he couldn't believe it! I'm guessing the Indian merchant ripped him off. The gold seems real to me, I have held the pieces that are about the size of a bar of soap. I haven't been shown the bars, but have been told they have numbers on them.
Anyway, that's my story. I'll be looking forward to your jokes and sarcasm.

OK First regardless what county you are in there are buyers there. Yes some may be gangsters are scam artist but that's the price you pay.
Anyone who comes to a public forum asking for help in selling gold is up to no good in my opinion. And most of the members feel the same way so its a good thing you are ready for the jokes and sarcasm.
