Detecting If young johnny had did that wouldn't all the money and the suitcase have long been going by mother nature and seem like back then it would have been hard to come up with that much money at one time just a thought

I watched a tv show that had this case as one of its topics. They showed the speakeasy and the bullet holes from the gunfight that night. It is a restaurant still open today. The show had a treasure hunter on it and he had diving equiptment with him and he thought that the said suitcase might be in the small lake near the speakeasy. He did dive and metal detect the lake and found a pistol from that era, But no money. They say that people still come there to look for the suitcase and seems that they give permission to look. The show covered the story very good and it was interesting too. One might google about the show if interested.

Hello Let's talk about john dillinger, bonnie and clyde, db copper are anyone you would like to talk about that has or could have hid a stash. I will start do you think if your could find one of the outlaws stash if it was paper money i'm sure most or all would be gone but if you could prove it was one of the outlaws stash i'm sure someone would pay a good price for what was left like a collector but how would be the best was to prove it belong to a famous outlaw (all members jump in lets hear your thoughs)

Hello halfdollar

Paper money from that era has most likely would of rotted by now. Even if it hasn't it is doubtful that it would be legal tender as of now. However it could be worth a lot as historical value to collectors especially if you can prove the connection to the gangster. It would be worth many times the original value.

Proving the connection with the gangster will not be easy. However it was allegedly going to be his get away money so perhaps there is a possibility that there is some other papers in the stash such as a passport?

I have heard of a man who trained his german shepherd to find old paper money. Im sure it could be done. The dog is only smelling the musty smell of the paper. Years ago I bought a suscription to his monthly treasure publication before the internet and he talked of someone doing this. He said that the man and dog would find old homes and open the door and let loose the dog and if he heard a bark he would enter and look for the paper money. From what I remember this man found alot of it too. Think about it.

Hello All

Interesting idea LeRoy Silver

Just need to get myself a drug sniffer dog. A large percentage of the national currency of paper money that has been passed through thousands of peoples hands has been used to snort Cocaine. Sniffer dogs can trace the residue left on the money.

If there is a hidden stash of money some where the chances are one of the bills will have traces of cocaine on it.

Silver puts off a smell, just open a jar full of silver coins that's been buried a few years or rub a silver coin between your fingers and then smell them. Anyway I talk with a guy that was trying to train dogs to smell out silver coins bars ect. I lost tract of the guy last year but have always found it interesting. If anyone looks into it keep us up to date
