seldom,
I think you need to spend some more time researching that topic, this is a forum and I do not intend to "keep my options to myself", we share, we learn. I do my part, you do yours, I am not telling you what to do, you don't tell me what to do. OK?

I dont want to discourage anyone here from hunting treasures. I have never seen anything like that, anywhere. I also see nothing else with it? Like more signs. All I see is that maybe, someone drew something on a rock.

Since Im a noob, I would say, good luck.

I dont think deep penetrating ground radar will help you with that sign?

I know nothing of the area, history, what has been found there before. Even if you do find the trail, the site could be picked clean.

Its easy to get excited. I do all the time. You asked for an opinion. Look for more, but keep it under your hat. You might find others just as curious as you looking for it too.

GoldDigger1950, you are knowledgeable and experienced man, but you are one of those who thinks he knows everything, and you know that's impossible, no disrespect!!!

I only reply to topics of which I do have an understanding. Why would I reply to topics of which I did not?

Thus, your only experience of me is during times when I DO, indeed, know the subject. Would you rather I post something every time I have no knowledge of a subject or topic? Would you rather I post like you and pretend I have knowledge when I have only guesswork?

Haven    Sorry I didn't reply sooner but was hoping the disruptors would bow out. I'm Just a beginner but have been fortunate to see some wonderful things. I believe a turtle with no legs can indicate you are close but you must still find the information to put yourself on the spot. It won't be under the turtle. Most turtles, including many with no legs , point the trail out. Only you are on the site and can make this judgment. Check the area around the known signs for things you have missed. Many signs are shadow signs . Most shadow signs will show between noon and 2:00.  Try to determine what kind of trail it is,trail in , trail out , short trail ,King's trail.......  Some folk claim that personal and emergency stashes were made at or near signs and this is likely true. Such would be shallow compared to the minimum depth of six feet for regulation stashes. Any good detector with a large coil would reach a couple feet down for these smaller stashes. As for the deep one's , learn to read the signs! It's a great adventure. Enjoy!!!

Hi tert, I will test that theory about a large coil next to a turtle to look for small emergency stashes.

GD is right new guys like most of us (me included) can only guess or say what we think is true. The mindset 50 years ago was different from today, think about 300 years ago?

Could you explain a trail in, or trail out, as compared to kings trail?

I probably spend too much time in the desert. But I would like to know more about your pic? Did it lead anywhere? No specifics, just curious as to if it panned out for you?

If you want honest straight answers, you have come to the right place. Dont shoot the messengers, they dont have anything to gain to mislead you.

Haven, is there anything else we can add to this thread? Have we beat the horse to death yet?

Casca, I think theres always something we can add you never no what one little tip or clue will help solve the puzzle, but that being said maybee we have beat this turtle to death! Casca, one more thing on a personal note I have never disturbed a sight for pictures or done anything to dishonor any site ! Everything I have shared are things as I have found them the turtle rock sits where I found it and has not even been moved "God as my witness"! I would never never never deface disturb or destroy any site historical or otherwise just for a picture "I promise you that"! I have way to much respect and honor for it all, the work, the history, and my fellow hunters to dishonor us or our history by doing something like that! That is my honest truth, I get angry like you did when I hear of or see evidence of people doing anything like that!

Haven  Well said !!  Leave em like you found em.    Casa   There could be one trail into a mine and a different one out. The kings trails were only for the kings men and hauling booty. It was death for anybody not on kings business to use them. Still working on that turtle trail.

Hi Haven,

I have three well marked trails. Turtles, Hearts, and Lizards Heads. Im still finding markers. My last find was yesterday, a 6 inch rock heart along a trail. The signs mean nothing as you need a cipher to decode what they mean. Since those ciphers no longer exist, the kings trail is just that, a trail.

But I did fond a mine dump. Once I get it tested for arsenic and mercury, I may play around in it. I dont go within 50 feet of any suspected mines due to the chemicals used in the past.

This state is loaded with mines. Lots of things to see and find here. Lets see, heres a pick of a rock with a horse shoe indent in it.

If my information is correct, it between 3000-5000 years old.

Heres a neat sign I have posted before.

What do you think they mean? What they told me is, no treasure here. Just rocks.
