I had a Vaquero, 5.75 and standard coils, for a summer and liked it quite a bit. the cibola and V are the same as far as I am concerned other than the manual GB. In air tests these machines would see a silver dime covered by iron nails. I recovered a V nickle from about 10" on a solid hit, whisper with the Vaq. I have also dug up coins with iron touching up against them, solid hits, always. the 5.75 coil is a must for park hunting with lots of trash.

If you can buy the Cibola and mod it for less than a used Vaq, go for it. You will void the lifetime warranty that Tesoro offers however.

Good luck.

A BH Landstar brought me into the hobby this year.  It has been a solid performer for coin shooting so far.  Certainly easy to use.

We are all biased to a large degree...Once I got my first Fisher, nothing but Fisher.Got a 1265. loved it, gave it to a friend in the UK,who still has it. Got a 1266 XB,that was a doozer. Almost gave up hunting because it was so iron happy.Sold it, and got a Silver, one of the most fun detectors going., then a Vaquero..Have three coils for it.. Three years ago,if you told me I would have three coils,  I would have signed the papers to have you put away.Last year, the same, if you told me I needed a pinpointer.Garrett on my desk....Have this local character that wanted my silver , kept on telling me not worth the price, so I advertised and sold it..My rating has degenerated to that of a no good offspring of a troll. He was just kidding around????If near Columbus Ohio, I'll borrow units so you can check them out. I don't care if you buy a dowsing rod with a bell, stop fooling around, Spring is shortly, cordially Nad Detecting Detecting Detecting

I like Tesoros also, good machines all around. The only one I didn't really like was the Deleon. It was an ok machine but didn't fair as well on Canuckistan coinage as i would have liked. The older Bandido II rocks on our coins.

Hi,

i know a fellow who has a Cibola ...he swears by it...and is deadly with it.
He pinpoints with its standard coil beautifully.
He also uses it with a huge Cleansweep coil to cover parks & dry sand beaches super fast.
This coil is massive advantage.
hope this helps

I'd pick a tesoro over a bounty hunter anyday, don't get me wrong I've found plenty with a bounty hunter but with tesoro they haver the lifetime waranty and will get better depth than bounty hunter. the tesoro silver sabre as an excellent starting machine.
