Can You Pick up a Coin on Top of Pliers?

A fellow asked. Can you can detect a coin on top of
a pair of plies after you nock out the plies with your
Tesoro detectors discriminator?

He saw a video of a Colden Sabre accomplishing
this task. He wanted to know if my machines would
do it. He also wanted to know if a Whites can do it.
I dont have no Whites.

So, I tried it with my machines.

Some pliers will work better than others for this test.
So, it may be some what of a trick,,,,,, but, I learned
something.

I used some heavy pliers,

{alt}

Monte said that the nice thing about the Compadre
is that it works kind of like the older Tesoroes in iron.
but unlike the older Tesoroes, The Compadre has a
ED-180 discriminator.

I tried both pliers with both coins shone above.

I used a Vaquero, Euro Sabre uMax, Silver Sabre uMax
and a Compadre.  I had a 7 inch coil on the Euro and a
5.75 inch on the others. All 4 are concentric.

The pliers are highly conductive because of the size.
That can change a lot as the pliers are changed.

The Compadre is the only one that could detect the coin
on the pliers, with the pliers being silent. It did it with
decent depth. But, if the discrimination was turned up
to a pull tab setting, the signal was lost. They may not
have mentioned that on the video, or the Golden may
have done better.

So, the answer is, I think the Golden may do as you said.
But, remember things are not quite what they seem.

The Euro Sabre was second best, but it did not have a
good response. It was just too crackled.

The Vaquero came next. It was close to the Euro, but
thinner.

The Silver Sabre uMax could not even discriminate out
the pliers.

Hope that helps,

Tabdog

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Ho Ho,

It is funny though.

Yesterday, I told Quizpro21 that I would do that when I got a chance.

I was compelled to do it because another fella had asked me to do a
semular test with a Compadre.

It is no surprise to me. The Compadre is just about my favorit machine.

Happy Huntin,

Tabdog

Sorry, mate, it just seemed funny. Go ahead. Kick me. I deserve it.

I like my Compadre too but I noticed that my coil seems to be smaller than yours. Do they come with different sized coils? I don't mean interchangeable coils but did they manufacture them with small and large coils?

Dont be sorry, just kick me,,, lol

The older Compadre came out with a 7 in coil.
The newer ones have the 5.75 inch coil.

I have one of each. I like both coils. The price
of a Compadre can be less than a good coil.

It only makes sense to have both.

So far no one has equaled the feat of tha lowly
Compadre.

Hay Ray,

That is tha Red Heat XD-17 Detector. It sells for about $900
in Europe.

I do not know if that is a trick or not. It could be. One thing
is that is just too easy to fool a by stander with parlor tricks.
Dealers do that deception all the time to convence people that
thier machine can see through things and get amazing depth.

If you put the pliers on the ground and do the test, it is more
difficult. After all, YOU DO NOT WAVE THE EARTH IN FRONT OF
YOUR COIL, do you?Huh??

It would appear that the P17 would do the task. But in actuallity,

HE DID NOT PUT A COIN ON TOP OF THE PLIERS AND DETECT IT.

Now I have a $70 Compadre that did do just that.

This video that everyone keeps refering to is awsome if it works.

I sure would like to have a P 17, but other things come first.

I have heard that the Red Heat machines will discontinue soon.
If you want one, you may want to l@@k into it.

But that is the only response I have have had to this topic
where it can be done. I have it on no less than five popular
forums.

No takers,

Tabdog

The Red Heats are no longer made. Vic Fiveash who made them to order died of cancer a year or 18 months ago (May he rest in peace).
Unfortunately, he didn?t leave any written schematics, and so no one took over the production.
The end of a great line of detectors.  Undecided Wise

Hay Guys,

I am not trying to be a show off here.

I learned something here. It is a real eye opener too.

In order for me to do this test successfully, I had to
sweep slowly, as I do in trash. Most people would have
trouble slowing down.

But, I learned some info about detectin in trash. Good stuff.

So, the users abilities come to play here.

It is not just the machine, it is also the user.

I am suer that there are more detectorist out there
that can do this with different machines.

I have never been big on air test and such.

But this and some other things I have done like this
have taught me some valuable info.

Thanks fer lookin,

Tabdog
