Go Up Go Down

Has any one dug a small hill that looks out of place, without getting any response from the MD? This is on 150 acres of private property and this 7 ft long and 2ft high rise is covered with moss and deep in the woods. I would guess it has been there a long time.  Could it be something buried too deep for the Md to pick up? I am also apprehensive as to what I may find. I don’t want to disturb something I shouldn’t.
Any suggestions?

well mate I would report it to the police and explain it to them and they might ask you to show them where it is,
and then they might dig it them selves but I would report it just the same.

About 31/2 to 4 ft. Its pretty symetrical, between two large oaks.

I think what AU is saying without saying it is it could be a grave that's way he is suggesting involving local police. It may be or it may be an old outhouse or storage building that has collapsed and nature is reclaiming it heck it could be an old deer blind we want know till you dig it.
I suggest you use a 3 or 4 ft probe and see what it feels like.

I agree with Ridge Runner. Let the local LEA   Police   know and let them dig it. That way if it IS a body, they can't pin it on you. What a shock If it were a body and you found out the hard way. Shocked Could get you in BIG trouble. Cry  Better safe than sorry.  Beheading

I think they would call it Tampering with Evidence  Shocked  and if you do find something like that I think
you can get in to trouble for not reporting it,  Its not a win win situation.

Let me give some history. This land has been family owned for over 100 years. The present proprietor is 81 years old and a good friend. He told me that mound has been there as long as he can remember. I doubt the police would be interested in anything that old. My friend has reason to believe that his grandfather buried quite a sum of valuables during the depression as he was a wealthy man and there was rampant looting. He told every one that he had lost every thing due to the bank failures. We may be chasing a ghost but we have been concentrating our search around the buildings. Yesterday, I decided to take a ride deep into the wooded area to look for buck rubs and scrapes. Just a relaxing change of pace. This hill stood out, so I swung over it  with the F2 and got no response. We decided to take the advice from seldom and probe it first. This will happen as soon as we can find something suitable to probe with. Most likely tomorrow.
