Hi there,
I haven't chosen my detector yet, but the more I search, the more I get opposites answers...
It seems that most of european websites or mag issues are hosted and published by detectors
brands...so u get many "best ever detectors"...
Please have a look on this "independant" test and tell me what u think about it...
That one says that the bests are:
                                                 Minelab Sovereign
                                                 Tesoro Tejon

Hello,

well, the detectors wich do best at the current test are:

Red Heat XD17
Minelab Explorer SE & eTrac
XP Goldmaxx Power

However all of these are also rather expensive.

The Tejon is a good machine, too but the Minelab Sovereign is not recommended in my oppinion.

If I were you I would uy one of the following:

Pre-owned Tesoro Lobo Supertraq or pre-owned XP Goldmaxx. Both machines are easy to use and have good depth especially on small items like old coins. The Minelab eTrac is presently the best available machine but also the most expensive an dmost difficult to use.

Best wishes,

Christian

Hello,

the best detector from Red Heat seems to be the XD17. It is very deep seeking and stable with a iron / non-iron disc. However its manufacturer Vic has passed away one or two years ago so you can only buy a 2nd hand unit now. They are sometimes being offered on eBay.

Regards,

Christian

Maybe you should ask the seller in the UK if he will ship to France. I'm sure he would ship to your country if you ask him. Good luck!

the one I found is a lightening 4...I'm not gonna buy it, he's not answering...sold 150 GBP...
I'm gonna group with a friend and try to get a price in belgium for 2 detectors...maybe the XP goldmaxx...if sold new
Do u know if new models are coming soon? If so there might be price reductions on previous models...
My english isn't perfect I know; few words are "franglais" as we say here...don't hesitate to say when I'm wrong
Sincerely
                    Edouard

Hello Edouard, there have been rumors that there will be new XP models but nothing confirmed yet. You can easily by preowned XP Goldmaxx machines on eBay UK for about Euro 450.00. Regards, Christian

Don't buy it. This is more of a toy than a real machine. Your best buy would be a used Goldmaxx Power or Tesoro Lobo.
