How To Make Real Money With Your Metal Detector

One of the most intriguing aspects of metal detecting is the fact that you, me and anyone else with the right know how can make a respectable amount of money metal detecting. Doing so is relatively simple and making enough cash to pay a few bills or to have some fun with is within any persons reach.
First begin to realize that everything you find with your metal detector has value! From those annoying little pull tabs to those old shotgun shells most of us discard at the end of the ...

They're worth the same as any other scrap aluminum. Get enough of them together and you make a pound.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Well if you are realy into scrap metal ,  just look around every powerpole , because when the power guys get up there to wireup all the fittings they trim all the wires and simply drop the trimmings straight down on the ground where they stay untill you show up .
You could easily make a living just doing that and you will get to travel around the country as well .  sort of like a working holiday   lol

Hi christian........I'm collecting scrap as I metal detect. It accumilates pretty quick and the gentileman (cookieman) I hunt with always gives me all his scrap. The brass and copper pieces have pretty good value when the prices are high. On the side I buy and sell antique tractors and equipment, that also produces a lot of scrap iron for me in unwanted parts etc.
If you're going to dig it up you just as well take it with you, if you don't want it give it to a friend. John in Va

Here is my ad I run periodically on Craigs List.  I am not getting rich, but I make a few hundred dollars a year and it opens up doors to new detecting sites:

LOST RING???[Subject Line]

I can help you find your lost ring or jewelry. I am an experienced metal detector enthusiast from the South Jersey area. I recently returned a white gold engagement ring that was lost in a backyard, and a woman's wedding band lost at a swim club..

If you lost your ring in an outdoor area, and have a rough idea where it was dropped or fell, I can most likely find it.

No Recovery, No Fee

@Neil in Jersey  What do you charge if you do find the lost item?  What if you find other items of value?  This is an interesting aspect, would like to do this myself.
