Do you know anything about the fishers 75, I have had my eye on this machine for some time now and plan on getting one within a few months.
I have heard nothing but great about the fishers 75 and plan on getting one soon. I have watched field test and this machine is inpressive. It has a awsome memory and from what Ive seen is it has impressive depth with strong signal. I watched a guy on a video go over about 6 or seven coins lined up, it didnt matter how fast he was swinging that coil, he was makeing music like running your finger down piano keys. You should check it out!
I have a whites prism Iv, they say its for beginners, it cost me a little over 400. I had problems with it at first, but like you say, once you know your machine, its like you are communicateing with each other. I have only been detecting for a year know, but I;ve pounded the earth a lot in that time and have learned a lot. For instance, this 1800's home sight that has fallen in in the middle of the woods on my wifes uncles property, I have pounded that ground a lot to were I was spending 5 to 8 hours and finding almost nothing, I learned that a chang in the soil has a big effect, after days of hardly anything, the snow fell and melted leaving the ground more moist, and an area I went over and over and found nothing, I was hitting tarkets right and left. The coin I pictured, the axe and pick, the spoon and musket balls etc, that was dug in one day after days on the same area finding nothing. Their is a lot of factors I am still learning.

No, I run a Quattro, but it may be considered as the Safari 2005 prototype, in a manner : same detector in blue coat, with other logos, a smaller coil and a slower processor.

A little way back I read something about a question about the Bounty Hunter Pioneer 505 .  It was one of the first detectors I bought and I must tell you that I never was sorry that I did . For the price I consider this one of the best detectors on the market today . I have built quite a few detectors over the years . None was better than the pioneer 505 . Besides when I bought mine there was another small coil included in the sale . This was a special Gold Nugget coil . And let me tell you  , that thing realy worked . No better tool to find nuggets than that 4'' coil . I was so happy that that coil was included in the packet . Just to let you know that the more expensive detectors are not better than the cheaper ones .  Cornelius

Thanks Cornelius, I will look into reading about the machine. I believe you when you say the most exspensive is not the best, but a lot of the newer machines make discrimination easier, some of them have bits and pieces that are better about them than others, I still have time to decide before I buy a new detector but I will check out the bounty your talking about!
                                                      Thanks again!
