The groundhog was in its day a great little detector they made a specially modified one for the Australian gold fields called the A2B which was an excellant machine.  Maybe Golddigger1950 can give you more information on it.  I know they were able to detect tiny specks of gold that we used to call fly shit stuck between transparent sticky tape.  They had good depth too.

all ready on top of it. have a good feel for it now, can only get better. believe it or not the gh makes more sense than the cheap bounty hunter does to me, even with all the ajustments that can be made. my grand son,7yrs, uses the bh when i take him out, his first score at a totlot was about $3 in clad,2 cars and an old broke buck knife. he's hooked now and wants his own md for his bday in feb. can't tell him no. thanx hh
allready in my favs. thanx though
thanx seldom, allready in my faves. researched it pretty hard bfore i called garrett.

I've run a Groundhog before.

That machine will stick with a pile of the new machines no problems.

Once you learn the tunes, your going to be able to tell Iron, Wire, Rings, Nails, Coins be them on edge or flat.

Runing at 15Khz in VLF it can find the gold.

I still run my Garrett S3 the little brother of the groundHog all the time.

Same basic circuit, 15Khz just less power.   Only two batteries.

I picked up an old Garrett ADS Deepseeker on Ebay and trying to get it working.  I researched this machine on the net and there was lots of great comments about it.  Some people say it is good as mid level machines sold today.
