What part of Idaho do you detect. Do have many ghost towns, AZ is loaded with them.

I'm in Southeast Idaho.  I only started back TH'ing last summer while recovering from surgery and took it pretty easy.

There are a few ghost towns up here but nowhere as many as Az.  Mostly old mining towns.

I'm hoping to get out more this summer, if it ever gets here.  It's snowing & blowing today.  Again.

Go Up Go Down

46 here.  I've always been an avid whitewhater paddler focusing on class IV and higher streams, and a 5.9 level rock climber.  Well not always.  The last couple of years have proven to me that nobody lives forever.  I don't have the stamina that I used to have to hang off of of El Capitan for three days or spend four days in West Virginia running the Upper and Lower Gauley, New, and Middle Meadow all in one stretch.

Now I find myself limited to paddling smaller streams like the Ocoee or Chatooga and my climbing limited to places like Sand Rock and T-Wall.  Most of these are half day to at most a full day adventure, so I've taken up treasure hunting to fill in the overflow of the hobby time.  It's starting to become an obsession, and I can certainly forsee that my paddling and climbing days are going to be pushed to the side more and more with my obsession with detecting, sluicing and panning.  It's a lot easier work and just as much fun.

Anybody want to buy a big wall rack, a bunch of dynamic climbing ropes, a couple of whitewater canoes and a self bailing whitewater raft?  They're probably going to sit unused before long.
