I have just brought out of hibernation my 1973 or 74 Compass 77B manual, I can't remember that far back as to exact year I bought it. I had a Whites coinmaster 6000D that was in the trunk of my son's car along with his XLT that was stolen in 1993, never recovered. I never whent back to detecting untill a month ago. The Compass still finds coins where all the nails seem to be. Will get a Pic. later. Bob G 70  Wise Detecting

Casca it's a $40.00 detector , u would be better off going to radio shack / wal mart and buying a new one.
by the time u order the coil and pay for shipping etc. u could have a brand new Machine with a warranty sitting at ur house. it's a really cheap detector good for surface scanning, beaches and tot lots etc.
If u want to get stuff more than 2" deep then u will want a differnt detector.

( Just being Honest. )   it makes a ok - kids detector,
Actually the Bounty hunter Jr. is a better machine than this is. (I own both so i can say that.)

Hey Karl,

After opening up the ol Famous Trails, I think there may be some adjustments that Can be made. I usually post my projects on here or another forum. I am actually looking at a $5 dollar midi connector to see if my BH coils will work?

I got a video idea and it includes a harbor freight $39.00 dollar detector.

I dont need any more chineese or cheap machines. You can say I have the bug, and have a pretty good idea what I want. But the ol nail hunters will be in the truck.
