How bad is the damage? The BH uses 2 9v bat. if I remember right, so if its miner damage just clean the connecters with a wire brush and some solvent of some type and replace the bat. In the future take the bat out if your not going to use the detector for a few weeks.

After cleaning off the heavy stuff. Although 9V batteries usually don't make too much of a mess. Radio Shack and other supplies carries DeoxIT®/DeoxIT Gold® Spray Twin Pack. The Deoxit spray will in a short time eat off the green and you can improve conductivity with the IT Gold. Good stufff.

Hello....thanks.....one 9volt connection is ok; the other one has one bad fastener that pulled out when the battery was trying to be removed, so the one
battery has only one fastener connection.  Assuming have to replace the whole fastener set up on the one battery.  Hope this helps; really want  quick fix!

Thanks again,
Lesa

Hello....thanks......ok, so one fastener on one of the 9V has come completely off when trying to get the battery removed.  So I have one good battery and
connection and one battery that has only one fastener.  Can you suggest any solutions or where to start?
Thanks again,
Lesa

You can get the battery clips at any electronic shop. You will have to open up the machine to replace it though.

The Bounty Hunter I have gives you plenty of wire to work with.   Just cut off the Wire to where there is no Green on the Connector and Splice in on a New Battery Clip.

Use Baking Soda and ALCohol to clean out the Compartment from the White Grudge.

Good advice so far. Remove the old battery case, clean everything up and replace with a new battery case.

Prices are cheap enough I might buy a couple of spares to throw into the detector bag just in case I need to do some in field repairs (those, my pocket knife, some shrink wrap insulation, and a match and I'd be all set for a quick repair).

Huh?    That detector only has a Battery Clip and Compartment.    Just Replace the Clips and swab out the Compartment best you can.   Happy Hunting.
