Are you sure I have the wrong parts? According to that image and schematic I linked earlier the ICs seem to be in order.

Due to the massive amounts of additions to this post read it all and then look at the bottom for the better pictures. Thank you - Management  Wink

homefire: According to the schematic 4066BE goes in U11, and the same as that picture before the schematic link post. I have a ton of diodes though and not enough spots to put them. Also I was thinking there should be a toggle switch for all metal to discrim. And there ain't no switch. hmm.

Does the TGSL kit have no switch?!

Wait a second.. That picture isn't the same board layout at all.. Maybe you're right Homefire.

Posted on: August 31, 2011, 01:01:19 PM
Well at least all my diodes are in place! Thankfully I was lazy the other evening when I decided not to cut my fingernails. They've come in handy. lol.

There, everything seems to be in order. homefire, after reviewing the geo forum for a bit i came across this and have been reassured by this photo that i'm on the right track with the correct parts. But it's OH SO confusing. musketeer, TGSL, and other coils for the IGSL.

I hope this pic and the troubles I've endured for a short while help other newbies like I, at this stage.

And if Silverdog reads this i apologize for the email I sent you from your site inquiring if i have the right parts. If for some reason I truly did get the wrong parts.. hey mistakes happen. My impatience is the only upsetting factor here. Impatience at time though. haha. All is well.

My grammar is too correct, I need another beer.  Sheep

I'm finding this to be very useful to double check my resistors:

I will take a picture when the sun is up. Why can't camera's be as good as the human eye in low lighting? Cameras need adaptability.. but oh no! then they become self aware! HAHA.

why i have a ton of 48V diodes and only 2 slots on the board for them.

Ignore my ignorance.. I need to be led by concise Kindergarten instructions apparently. So Basically: if I can do it, then YOU can do this. I believe in the you that believes in me believing in you.  Cheesy gotta have a little fun.

I found it. the correct schematic for my build. the IGSL-TGSL coil build here is the post of a .bmp image:http://www.geotech1.com/forums/showpost.php?p=131323&postcount=203

A more convenient .jpg image is attached. Also all the parts are listed in the attached file as well. I am practically at home base now. My sleuthing is over. What a day.

Thank you Silverdog, D Bowers, Ivconic, et all for all the hard work and making this project available. To be continued.. tomorrow.

Sorry if I'm a bit late in replying - I hadn't seen this thread and only just replied to you PM with the schematic and partslist
I'm on UK time so was probably asleep when this thread was active

I guess you have now realised IGSL - TGSL is a completely different project from the original TGSL, goto geotech for more info

You appear to have all the correct parts so I'm sure you will sort it

I am posting the schematic and partslist again for reference

Thank You silverdog! I'm grateful for the partslist. That helps a lot  Grin.
I will continue to build this project!

I have a question silverdog: does this newer project require a toggle switch(other than power cut-off) for the all metal/discrim?
Thanks again.

IGSL does not have a switch for all metal/Disc mode, it has pots for fe/non-fe accepting levels, so I guess you open them for all metal, and gradually close them for your disc levels - Ivconci the designer has some videos on youtube

More is explained by him in the IGSL thread on geotech

I would extend that pot to the box so it could be adjusted.

That should be a gold finder for sure.

 Cool

Yes you get external pots for both those and 2 more for sensitivity of each channel
There are 2 gnd balance pots on board which you could extend to give gnd balance control as you go, but I have left those as pcb pots for now
