Not trying to Swipe the thread but on Geo Caching.

Here in Deming some one place one on the GeoCache site to find.

Well , I found it.

They placed it in a well known Rattle Snake Pit.

It's a old cistern on Camp Cody that the snakes fall into and can't get out.

Some Folks just Ain't Right!

It was a Gator Aid bottle with $20.00 in it.

you need to set you up a rope with a magnet on it and if that doesn't work out put a lassoo on the end of the rope and hook the rim of the bottle you'd be the first to get it out and then I'd keep the money for all the trouble. so much for geo caching but it was stpid to be put in a pit... Grin

When you first opened it I thought you must have come accross the game
where you bury something and give the gps location so someone could
find it. That is about as unusual as when I found a lighter cady in a tot lot.

The note was on the top of the coins and made it quite clear to me who buried it. Looked to me like a couple of kids who just watched Pirates of the Caribbean to me. Good fun for them, a great find for me. The only one that I can recall ever reburying after I found it. It would have been completely heartless of me to take it.

A couple of weeks ago, I was in a shop here called The Reject Shop where I found the exact same small chest for sale. I bought one for my wife to keep her most often used jewelry in and she loves it. Every time I look at it, I am reminded of my treasure find.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

If you ever go back to that park you'll have to scan that spot and give us updates if you think its still there or not (without having to dig it up of course)!

Great job on the find Clapp
I have been trying for months to log in,finally did it Grin.
I have been useing and learning my new DFX since late last summer, and I have seriously become addicted to it.
Finally found my first wheaty,a 1921 about 2 inches deep close to an old barn.
Came across a fellow who had a few coins he wanted to sell.He did not know or care much about them.I bought them for 25 bucks. One was a 1923 PEICE SILVER DOLLAR Grin,2walking liberty halves,a Franklin half, some pre 1964 quarters,4 clad dollars,4of the current gold dollars, and a lot of ww2 foreign coins, and a 1977 coin of some sort, the size of a silver dollar, some sort of a commemarive token,I think.Pawn shop offered me 70 bucks,I kept them for my collection.
I live in Forsyth,Ga.Anyone close by,send me and e-mail,maybe we can hunt together. Detecting
