The first one obviously is an Arrowhead.
Adena I think.......
The second artifact is a pottery shard with 2 fingernail markings (at thumb)
and lateral scribing.
The inside of the pot at one time was lined with "Asphaltum"
you can barely see it, but it's there.
It started comming off while I was cleaning it and I stopped.
My first with asphaltum still intact (partially)
The other item was a broken preform.
4 hours of hot heavy toil and hopes of finding something better next time.

Nice looking arrowhead. Was it exposed or did have to do some digging? My problem is the point could bite me in the butt and I still wouldn't see it.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

seems to have a pink or lapis color?

What detector were you using & what kind of tone or visual ID if a meter detector did it give you?

Thanks & enjoyed your finds-  Wink

Great finds, thanks for sharing.

Just be careful, not sure what the laws are like around your area, however I have recently read some stories of some very heavy tactics in the USA by official's in relation to the disturbance and removal of historical relics.

In one case a young boy was fishing with his dad and whilst they did not catch any fish the boy found an arrow head. Later when they were walking back to their car two officials' stopped them and asked if they had caught any fish, the kids said no, but I found this arrow head and showed it to them. They then told the kid he could go to jail for removing it. The father stepped in and told them to lighten up, they then told him to back off or he would be arrested.

Would not like to see anyone getting into trouble.

Would be keen to know if you have any further information about this in your area...?

The digging and recovery on private property in Texas is quite legal and is in some areas a business.
There are people who charge astronomical proces to allow people to come in and dig on their property. Of course these people who pay are only interested in digging if it is a known point producing area.

Thanks for clearing that one up for me.

Seems to be a lot of differences between states there.
