Has anyone out there ever started a home based business selling your services as a treasure hunter?  Is this even possible?

Love to hear some input!

Welcome from New Mexico.

Yes some people put there cards on Craigslist and things.

Slim Picking to the most part I would think.

From what I hear they get hits from Commercial outfits looking for lost tools, Markers and stuff.

I have known several people who have tried it with mixed results. The biggest problem was people did not want to pay after a recovery.
To keep from going in the hole you will need to charge a hourly rate plus a percent of the value of object

It's been done before with, as Seldom noted, mixed results. Most of my requests for help have come from people who saw me detecting and asked if I could find a metal object for them. Imagine that? A metal detector finding a metal object? But I digress.

There was a young teenager here named Tyler who had cards printed up to offer his service at finding lost objects. He hasn't been on in a while. Either he got really busy or he met with an evil customer.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
