Hello to all! I am new to this site and new to metal detecting. I live in rural Missouri and spend most of my free time in and around the creek that runs through our farm. I have been hunting for rocks, fossils and studying the history/geology of my state and immediate area for some time now. Now I want to find a piece of history(or several pcs)!! My detector is low-mid grade I believe but it was in my price range. So far I have found several buried nails and barbed wire pieces. Nothing of value yet =( I remain hopeful knowing that there once was a stagecoach route running across the property, bushwackers and early outlaws like Jesse James used the creek as their retreat often, and there were several Indian artifact sites proving that they once lived in camps here. Even if what I find has no monetary value, if I found even a uniform button, the remains of a civil war era weapon or even a piece of Native Armerican jewelry I would be ecstatic!!  My goal on this site is to understand how to use my detector correctly and see the possiblities of treasures out there by looking at other members finds. =)
