Go Up Go Down

Hello everyone,

I am brand new to this hobby and still am deciding on what detector to start out with. A friend of mine has a great time with his and the more he tells me about it the more I cant wait to try it. I know there are a few detectors to choose from in the price range of 300-400 dollars but I am still reading reviews and such before I make my decision. Any suggestions or favorites that anyone can recommend?

Hi Camo, welcome from Arizona.   Those are all good detectors.   Any of them would meet your general metal detecting needs and give you room to grow in the hobby.

I never came across a Fisher f4 until Seldom recommended it and I went looking on the internet to find as much info on the unit as I could. That detector sure seems like it has all the goodies that I am looking for. I like that it has threshold and manual ground balance...great features for the price. Thanks again for the info guys/gals, Thunting has been a wealth of information and help for me. Have a great day and HH

Camo I had that detector and also the small 4" coil with it and I used it to rid an area of all metal objects
and I have never tried do that with anyother machine because the F4 is such an underated machine
and to tell you the truth Seldom is spot on it is one of my favorites and is a Beast

Thats all I needed to hear Ridgerunner., My mind is made up, even though its a little bit more expensive than the others suggested I have had great advice and read some really awsome reviews on the Fisher f4., Thanks again guys/gals I will be placing an order with Kellyco soon. Now the bigger job ahead, I have to soften the misses up a bit before I order haha.

Welcome Welcome from the Blue Mountains of northeastern Oregon.  Good luck with the missus!  Eons ago when I first started I had to do the same... and that was to buy a detector that cost $49.95!  Of couse, it was in the early 1970's.
