Hello!

I live in Carson City, Nevada. I'm 39 years old and metal detecting is a new hobby for me. (Whaddya know... I'm a newbie!) I've been married for over 13 years and have 2 daughters and 1 son.

I've had my Garrett Ace 250 for a couple of weeks now. I must say I am HOOKED on this! I have found plenty of clad and costume jewelry... as well as tons of trash! I know there's silver and gold out there just waiting for me. Grin

My detecting has pretty much just been "practice" so far in my yards and private settings. My last hunt I finally had the guts to go to a large city park here in town. That was kind of a tough line for me to cross... lol!

I have been researching my area and there are some very promising sites I am finding and will be asking for permission to hunt. My area has quite a bit of history. Would also like to hunt the lakes close by (Lake Tahoe for one!)

This looks like a wonderful forum with some great people. I look forward to participating!

Hello Tony and Welcome

to the Forum !!! You are in the middle of one of the best areas to Metal Detect and Prospect .
Carson City Mint , the Comstock Lode , Ghost Towns , old trails , old abandoned mines , old buildings , old schools .

There is a ton of great stuff left to find with a decent Metal Detector.
