Retired lifetime Alaskan. Hobby miner, started detecting in the 60's but didn't keep it up but have renewed my interest. Lots of fun beach mining in Nome, have been spending 2 to 3 months up there mining, detecting, exploring up to 100 miles away by Yamaha Rhino 4 wheeler. Our camp about 6 miles West of Nome on West Beach. GPAA Cripple River camp about 6 more miles West of us. 3 to 4 from our camp suction dredge off shore. One mile west of us is Lonnie & Steve's camp. Steve has a dive shop in Alabama <http://www.ssdsupply.com/>
My partner, Andy is also an Alaskan artist <http://www.andyhehnlin.com/>. Some of the guys are buying the
<http://www.moorecreek.com/> and they've kindly invited me to help out. We have a fantastic group with some real talent. I live in Girdwood, Ak., about 35 miles South of Anchorage. Girdwood was an old mining town that is now Alaska's main ski area. I ski patrolled here years ago but it's too commercial now and not as much fun. This site looks a little confusing so hope to learn to navigate it soon.
