Hi

I am new too. Just signed up today. I live in Warren, MI but have a place in Venice, FL.

It is so much easier treasure hunting in sand than it is in dirt. We are going back up north next week so I had better get my fill in.

So far I have only found a quarter, nickel and a real nice wine cork!

Hi and welcome,

I have not hunted in sand yet, but hope to soon.  You you have one of those shifters you use for the sand?  I would like to go and hunt around the Pensacola FL area, espaecially near the lighthouse.  There is alot of history there.

Sand seems to be the easiest to manuever in. Rather than spend a lot of money on a hand-held sifter I made my own for less than $5.

I bought a stainless steel seive about eight inches long and maybe six inches in diameter from AKEA for less than $1. Then I went to Lowe's and bought a drawer handle and affixed it to the seive with nuts and bolts through the holes.

It works great but now I want to put a larger handle on it to make it easier to dig.
