hi i am new and in north florida, i have occasionally gone metal detecting and gotten some neat old coins and other things on our farm and some other places.  Glad you are here and hope i learn more about metal detecting.  Thanks

is always a well visited beach by many sun bathers and vacationers, so if your near by you could always detect those strands of beach & more than likely unearth many sweet looking precious jewels.

A few other nice beach locations:

2. Sanibel Island
3. St Augustine

There are numerous great spots for you to go M'Detecting on land in many parks and play grounds as well as old victorian era properties around north Florida, and we have a state by state local laws & tips section regarding M'detecting and local laws sub section you also may find interesting & rewarding.

Good to see your enthusiasm, and that's all you really need in this fun hobby. In the beginning, finds may not seem to come and you will dig up some more worthless trinkets compared to coins & jewelry, but if you enjoy the fresh air & being outside in the sun, and being at peace with ones self, in a short time you will understand your detectors language and be on your way to some very beautiful & lovely finds.  Smiley

Enjoy the forum, there are many great & friendly people here, with so much to read and see in all areas of metal detecting & Treasure hunting!

I am happy and excited to hear from members, thanks for the welcome wishes,  have not found much here but like i said i havent had time to really search much, found an old wagon wheel and some coins that were older but not really what i would call old, thanks so much for the knife suggestion as i had been using a shovel and its just too much work.  I work on our farm and its hard to find time. I am a state wildlife rehabber and state guardian ad litem.  But any suggestion that is helpful i appreciate!!
