I had set to where I notched out all the iron, pull tabs, caps, etc., but was still able to hit nickles, pennies, quarters. I had the sensitivity set pretty high for most of the time I have had these machines. Started to notice the most false signals after it rained the last few days. I think you maybe right about fine particles. Gonna' try lowering the sensitivity tomorrow.

I have hit hot rocks. The soil around here is mineralized with stuff, iron ore for one. Lots of rusty stuff in the ground around my way. Tomorrow is another day....

MUCH better day today!! I have learned that I like my Coinmaster over the Coinmaster Pro. Basically same machine anyway, same coil. Only a handfull of false hits today and I'm guessing it's iron ore. Ended up with 5 quarters, 4 dimes, and 8 pennies. Mostly from 60's-70's. Nothing old or super cool, but a better day all together. Got my pinpointing down much better as well. I learned that after a rain the mineralized ground around me can send out some crazy signals, learning the ropes though. Oldest coin I have found so far is a 1943 nickle. Can't wait until I find some of the older coins/large cents from 1700's-1800's cause they find those alot around me. I have learned through talking to locals that my area was hard hit by MD'ers in the 1970's-1980's so that a good sign that this area still has alot to give up....

A money sandwich my favorite kind, rain will make everything scream if the ground is completely saturated. Sounds like you have it figured out now very cool.

Welcome from Santa Cruz Ca! One thing I might suggest is a water machine for those rainy days or if you have lakes around you. Homefire was right on with the info! HH Smiley Smiley
