I'm starting to get the hang o fit... Went to a friends campground today and did pretty well again, for being a newbie...: 6 quarters, 2 nickles, 2 dimes, 12 pennies, 1 brass video arcade token. I'm getting antsy though because I want those older coins that I KNOW are around here because people find them all the time.

The oldest coin in the bunch is a 1965 quarter, but the video Token was the fun find. It's actually a token from a video arcade from a town I used to live in about 30 miles away. Place has been closed since 1987.

I already did find a ring!! Forgot to mention that...hahaha. Found it last week. Came up as a pull tab, but the signal was stronger than a pull tab normally would be. Decide to flick the top 2 inches and it popped up. Nothing fancy, but it was .925. My wife digs it so she's wearing it. Old hippy chick ring, kinda' cool.

Still working the campgrounds. Found 5 quarters, 4 dimes, and 7 pennies. The place is private so I know it's never been hit. It sits on land that had been a farm since the late 1700's. The main house is from 1759. I'll be finding the good stuff soon. Been working the volley ball courts because of the reports of lost jewelry. No jewelry yet, but it keeps coughing up clad. Great spot. Every turn I get a hit....

I'm actually surprised at how in tune I am getting with this machine. Didn't use my handheld pipointer at all today. Learning everyday. The Coinmaster does just what it should do, it finds coins.

Again I don't do Computer numbers.

Gold rings sound just like a Nickel.

I love hunting behind people that hunt by the numbers.

They just get so upset when you keep pulling the goodies 10ft behind them   .      LOL

I've just been digging everything that hits a hard signal. I'm still pulling a bunch of trash, but sometimes it's not trash. Not really reading the dispaly too much because it has proven to be wrong.

In the last 3 days I've ended up with 16 quarters, 3 nickles, 10 dimes, 23 pennies, and a trash bag of junk. Better than I was doing last week.

Welcome from the Blue Mountains of northeastern Oregon!   Welcome   Sounds like you are getting things figured out and are well on your way to success in the hobby.  Congratulations!

You can't go wrong getting advice from Homefire!  Well, most of the time!  Grin  And He does have a quirky sense of humor at times!  Lots of other very knowledgeable people also on this forum.                                    Detecting
