 If you are interested here are a couple of web sites to check out.
           www.insulatorscanada.com
           www.insulators.com
caution , you could get hooked on these. Grin

Thanks for the links - you're right about getting hooked - there are some really neat insulators out there. I have a Hemingray with a 1893 patent date. Looked it up & it's quite common.  Smiley

Hello everyone in metal detecting & treasure hunting land : Smiley
      My name is Aidan Morgan and I've been swinging a metal dectector for 30+ years , sometimes not as often as I would like to though. My main treasure hunting is for old telegraph, telephone and power insulators. I live in southern British Columbia and hunt mainly the Collins Overland Telegraph Line (1866 ). This line was an attempt to connect North America  to Europe via Alaska and Russia after the first trans-atlantic cable failed. I try to specalize in only Canadian insulators because there are too many kinds to try and collect all kinds. But there are some old ones from the eastern US states that I would like aquire also. Wink  So If anyone has any that they would like to part with send me a message with a picture or a description and I'll answer your message.      Thanks ,   Seasons Greatings

insul8or;

Hi, where were you when I tried to get the insulator forum goin  Shocked

Im in N. BC, Dawson Creek, and I have some insulators off the AK Hwy telegraph lines and a couple others... one from the Collins line, I believe.

Darn, I dont have any pics, just never thought!

Anyway, maybe if we talk enough, we can stir up some interest, what say?

Hi Brian,
    Sorry, I've been away for a few months trying to get outside and away from the computer. If you could post a picture I could help you ID your insulators if your still interested in them.

Take care
Aidan

Not easy to do right now.... I have a plate-full, as it is, but I will try to get to it.

I realized, after posting, I need some pictures, just forgot about things, with all the goings on, this  summer.
