That is U.S. Dollars.
Too many of us forget this is an international board and assume everyone knows what we mean. For Instance, if you write about the Civil War, chances are a lot of these people are going to think you're talking about "The War of Northern Agression" fought between 1861 and 1865 in the United States as opposed to the earlier conflicts the Roundheads and the Cavaliers fought between 1642 and 1651.

There may be an equivalent available in the UK. If there is, I haven't found it (but one of our members there may chime in).
Assuming there is not, you have the following options:
1) Order the Cen-Tech from Harbor Freight and pay the shipping on it which may make it not so attractive financially.
2) "Bite the bullet" and spring for one of the more expensive models available in the UK such as the White's or the Garrett ProPointer
3) If either you or one of your mates has any skills at all with electrical apparatus, you can build your own pinpointer inexpensively and without a major time investment. There are several versions discussed in previous threads on this forum (just use the search function at the top right to look for homemade probe or homemade pinpointer). These are simple enough that you should be able to build them just from the info in the open forums (i.e. don't have to wait until you have 25 posts to access the download section).
4) You can learn to pinpoint with your detector which is something everyone should learn to do--just in case. Using a pinpointer is faster, but this way you'll be set if you ever get separated from a working pinpointer. This can always be looked at as a temporary measure until you are able to do one of the other 3 options.

If you decide you want to go the 3rd option route and build your own pinpointer, here are 3 internal links and 1 external links that should at least give you an idea of what is involved. (If you ever made a crystal radio that actually worked as a kid, you should be able to pull off one of these.)
