Howdy, Ray......make sure you check the BLM site to see what's already been claimed......There are lot's of possibilities in the Mohave County area, but there are also a whole lot of active claims.   There are also several ghost towns that can be explored and a tail or two of lost treasures along the Colorado rive south of Lake Mead.   I can't give you many more specifics than that since I haven't spent nearly as much time in that part of the state as I would like, but we do have a lot of members who live between Kingman and Lake Havasu City.   (make sure your trip includes the old rt 66 from Kingman to i-10 through Oatman, but make sure you have plenty of gas before you get off the main drag)

Thank you BA . I have been doing research on the erea for about 3 mo.I will be using a gps and some maps that i have on active claims as well as using the blm web site to make sure that i stay off any valid claims. what im really interested in is finding old non active claims and doing some sampling at at least 15 sites  but if i only hit 10 that will be OK.i have 3 months to narrow them down.i tend to go a little over the top but you can never have to much info. ray.
Thanks for the welcome BOMBER ray.

Welcome, Ray, from Australia. I suspect that there's a bit of outdoor lover in every treasure hunter. I spend two hours a day just hiking through the bush here in Oz with my dog. He's a golden Labrador and just too big a dog to keep in the back yard so he keeps us both healthy with walking. I haven't missed a day out with him for a long time now. Years. He runs like the wind and comes back to tell me all about what he's seen or sniffed around the place.

To some degree, I have mastered them all. I believe that it's possible to learn all the general characteristics of a machine in one day. In a week or so, you can have the nuances down pat. In a month, you will have it mastered.

I've had dogs all my life and the dog you have now is always the best ever dog. If you love dogs you tend to treat them as a friend and not just an animal. My dog acts more like a companion than a pet and I allow it. I also don't have small children so he didn't learn to be rough and tumble. He's a genteel, well mannered friend of mine who I would take anywhere. Society puts blocks on them but dog lovers know they're just as sociable as their human friends.

When I say I am sorry for your loss, it's not just words, mate. I do truly understand.
