Garrettman, if you do a search using our the function at the top right of the page, you'll find several posts on HOW to get your 250 to work efficiently at the beach.

Welcome garrattman from here in the uk (suffolk). The old silver sabre is still a pukka machine compared to some new machines! I had one years ago think they are great! Hope you have a good day on the beach! What beach are you heading for? HH  Lee    Detecting

Hi Lee (my surname is Lee)
It will probably be Torre Abbey sands early in the morning but if I wait until Jan, Feb after the storms then any time of day.  I was born and bred in Torquay so I know the detecting delights of almost all the beaches from Dawlish right round to Bigbury Sands. They have all proved to be very lucrative and have paid for my fuel many times over.  I have never had the pleasure of detecting on the east Coast as yet, it would be quite a journey from my home mainly because there are no motorways directly connecting North Bucks and say Yarmouth. My travelling is very restricted due to my wife's terminal illness (Vascular Dementia) meaning I have to stay close to her all the time, she cannot travel anywhere but maybe soon I will find a solution. Who knows what the future holds.  Trouble is that at 67 I am in my second childhood and being very active all my life I have developed itchy feet again.
All the best Garrettman

Sorry to hear about your wife! Hopefully things will work out for you! From what ive seen and read the coast your side is better for detecting than the east coast. Hope you have some good finds very soon!  HH  Lee   Detecting
