Did I make a mistake as a buying the AT Gold? or should I have bought the AT Pro? I'm new to metal detecting and I'm having a hard time with targets, mostly aluminum. Should I dig every target until I learn? Detecting

Hi, KC!  Welcome to the forum from northeastern Oregon!   Welcome

My answer to your question is YES, dig every target until you learn.  It will increase your understanding of how your detector works and what it is telling you about the targets.

I'm not familiar enough with the AT Gold or the AT Pro to answer that one.  Guys who know will be along soon!                     Detecting

Also, be sure to read all the way through your operators manual at least twice.  Take it with you when you hunt and use it as a reference.  Then read it again after a hunt.  It will help you understand the operation of the detector and what it was indicating to you in the field.            Detecting

Welcome from Arizona.   I agree with ArfieBoy and homefire.   You made a good choice, but there is a learning curve to any skill and to any machine (besides lots of people miss gold because they think it's aluminum foil or pull tabs....me I'd rather clean up extra trash than miss something important.   Besides collecting enough aluminum could pay for your detector  Smiley )

You should dig every target especially after you learn. Remember. The best discriminator is your eyes.
