Welcome to the site! I was born in Pasic and moved to Florida from Somerville, NJ in 1967. Wish I was there to MD all those Farms I grew up around.

Don't overlook your own backyard, Neil. Union soldiers camped all over South Jersey and many Revolutionary War battles were fought there. The gun runners during the Revolution arriving from the West Indies and Virgin Islands unloaded their gear in South Jersey and moved them by horse and wagon to Washington's Army. The mobsters in the '20s, '30s and '40s used the dense forests for making moonshine during prohibition. Homes built like sugar plum drops during the 1940s and 1950s are still standing with coins from those eras in the lawns and sidewalks. Parks built then would be loaded with 60 years or more of goodies probably covering campgrounds from the Revolution and Civil War.
