Hey everyone!  My wife got me a metal detector last year at this time for our anniversary because i wanted to get into it.  We've used it a few times, got a lot to learn though lol.  Used it today at Surfside Beach, Tx only found 2 pennies though.  Looking forward to gaining knowledge and good times with it though!

That sounds good, blacksnaster.  I live just north of Houston in Spring.  I definitely need practice.

Welcome from the Blue Mountains of nrtheastern Oregon!   Welcome

It takes a lot of practice in the field with your detector to learn what information it is telling you.  I always advise people with a detector to sit down with the manual and detector and play with the knobs and controls on the detector as you read through the manual.  Do that a few times.  Then go out in the field, with the manual handy and check the manual as you hunt.  Practice with the detector is the key!  Practice, practice, practice!   Good luck!   Detecting Detecting

I really need a sand scoop for next time we go to the beach.  But it was hilarious watching my wife try to dig with a garden trowel while the tide started coming in LOL!

Howdy and welcome from Arizona.   We've got lots of us Texans on this board (even if some of us are currently living in exile in other states).
