Name is Mark, live in North Carolina (Near Greensboro).  I have been somewhat interested in treasure hunting/prospecting/detecting since 1992 or so.  I have owned 3 different metal detectors, all with limited success and also have a 4" Keene dredge with air, highbanker, and other misc. prospecting equipment.

I have been scuba diving for 4 years, and am certified as AOW.  I do not get to dive nearly as much as I used to, but still love it none the less.

Not sure why I am here, just trying to find new places to read about adventures and add a few new dreams.  I would love to make some new friends who would be interested in teaching me something about the metal detectors and cache hunting.  My current friends only want to fish and play golf.  While I love both those as well, the "adventure bug" is taking over.

I own my own business and may share some info on that over a period of time.

Welcome aboard from Perth in Western Australia! This is the best forum on the web. While there are only a limited number of wreck diving enthusiasts here, they are passionate about what they do. Look for Cornelius, Salvor6, Aquanaut and Tony Wells, to name a few.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Thanks for the info.  I have read lots of post from those guys over the years, lots of good info from them.

I don't really look to turn my diving into a treasure seeking thing.  I do not dive often enough to feel comfortable with the extra task loading. I am not saying that I would turn down an invite on a trip, since I could help out as surface support, but I think right now I would be more interested in land searches.
