The wife and i are planning a trip down to Galveston, what can you tell me about that area and what hotel might I want to book? You know .... whats the closest hotel to where I need to be hunting?

All the way west is St Louis Pass on the mainland side was the town of St Louis it was a big town 3000 people or more was a big sea port till the canal fulled up with sand. Everyone packed up and left. During the Civil War there was a fort mud island. I have found lots of bottles and a few relices around there.

I have several more civil war fort sites but am thinking of writing a Magazine arctile so will set on them for now.

Texas how long you staying If you are staying a week or so your better renting a beach house. Galveston is only 32 miles long so you can get anywhere in 15 20 min. Man you do not bother me I am 56 years old and my knees or gone I can only hunt for a few min at a time so now I just want to research and help out other THs.

HEY DUDE, YOU ARE OLD! IT HAPPENS TO THE BEST OF US. I HIT 62 THIS YEAR, BUT I AINT OLD, JUST GETTING STARTED. I'VE BEEN HUNTING GALVESTON THE PAST FEW WEEKS. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE ARTICLE. I LIVE IN MAGNOLIA, TEXAS ABOUT 50 MILES NW OF HOUSTON, TEXAS I HAVE AN OLD TESORO DEEP SEARCH 7 DIGGER AND ITS AN OLD WORK HORSE. THINKING ABOUT GETTING ME FISHER 1280X, BUT I LIKE TESORO BECAUSE OF THE LIFE TIME WARRANITY.

TELL TEXAS CACHE THE HOTELS ARE ACCROSS FROM THE BEACH. HOTEL GALVEZ TO CHEARER HOTELS. FISH TAILS IS A GOOD PLACE TO EAT, IF ITS STILL THERE.
THE FLAG SHIP HOTEL IS DAMAGED GOODS. WATCH THE TIDES. IT WILL START HEATING UP, 90'S THIS WEEK. GOOD LUCK

Texas see if you can find a copy of Treasure of Galveston Bay, by Carroll Lewis if you get into treasure in this area it is a must. If your only staying 2 days there is a hotel at 6 mile road near the end of seawall that would be the best. Will stop and get the phone number for you in a day or so. Talk to you later.
