Hello]
Hi All
I have been a detectorist since the early seventies and have made some good finds over the years. I have recently had a period of 4 years without the machines coming out of the cupboard (due to work commitments) and thought that it was about time to start up again. I have recently acquired some good sites and hope to share the results with you over the coming months.
I currently have 3 machines, Tesoro Cortes, Minelab Sovereign and Troy Shadow X5 (my favourite machine).
Look forward to seeing some of your finds and hearing your stories.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Welcome aboard! I've also owned the Cortes and Troy X5. The troy is very well manufactured but I had to noticed it has difficulties in properly detecting bronce items such as e.g. Roman Fibels etc.

I hope you will soon get out again to do some hunting. Please keep us posted!

Best wishes,

Christian

Thanks Everyone,
Such encouragement is much appreciated. Yes Sue I have found coins and artifacts from all periods of British history and will of course share some of the pictures with you. I am very fortunate that I live in a medieval village with an 12th Century Church and several timber framed houses, the pickings are quite rich and varied. I have unfortunately sold many items over the years but still retain a good number of hammered coins as well as Roman. I have found Hammered gold, Celtic Gold, and a wide range of artifacts. attached is a silver bodkin that I have just sold on ebay  circa 1620 AD and a more unusual find for us UK detectorists also a celtic stater of the Trinovantes. Thanks again and happy to share with you. If anyone has any questions about coins or artifacts, I will be happy to assist.

Wow, seems that findings have been leaning in your favor.  I live in the Americas, so the ages of my finds go back only about three hundred, compared to a thousand years around you area.

Great finds, hope that you find much more and is able to present us with fantastic finds. Wink Smiley

You live in a wonderful area. Thanks for a nibble of what you've found  Smiley I love looking at people's finds. The bodkin is really nice. I had to look bodkin up and it's either a sword or hairpin. Hope it's sword  Smiley  I can't tell the size, but like the design and it's sure in fine shape for it's age. Sue

Unfortunately it is a hairpin, 4" in length, it could also have been used for drawing ribbon through cloth. I am still looking for the silver sword.
