Hello everyone I am new to this website and to treasure hunting in general. I never did any actual hunting before but I want to start. I was wondering where Should I start? I like the idea of finding legendary treasure but should I start with something small first? Hope this website can help me get started in the right direction!

Hello, Hunter05.  Welcome to THunting.  I agree with Seldom, if there is a good club in the area, it is an excellent way to start.
Also, realize that you're more likely to find a lot of small treasures than you are to locate and recover one of the truly legendary treasures (not saying it can't happen).   If you're coin hunting, just about any place where you can legally hunt and people gather and lose coins will do.....but if you're interested in either relic hunting or cache hunting, you're going to need to get intimately familiar with the history of the area and try to figure out who would have been most likely to have and hide what you want to find.  And that's where reading (and preferably owning) books like the Treasure Hunters Manual by Karl von Mueller and a couple of the books by Garrett, etc come in handy.....they help you recognize the kind of leads you should be looking for.

welcome from Morgan, Utah.  being in the area that you are, i would research local history and find out trails, routes, and traveling customs of those back in the day, and it can lead you to some interesting things, for example the pony express route here in Utah, or the overland stagecoach....i am then able to find out where the stations were, and the histroy is still there whether a building still exists or not. if there were people, there are coins, bullets, buttons etc.  also waterways, it was not uncommon for folks back int he beginning of our countries histry, to travel by rivers or along coast lines.  good luck...also have you visited "Old Iron Sides" ?  I'd love to see pictures if you have.  good luck and keep in touch.
