Hello mudflap and thanks.I'm still quite baffled, trying to find my way around this site!It always puzzled me as to why the Sandbank instructions said to connect the coil to the circuit with twin line or coax. This could easily add several hundred picofarads to the coil:not what you want.I connect mine with 2 widely separated wires.Optimum readings:-
A farthing 18mm dia-7ins
A penny    30mm  " -12 "
A silver threepence 17mm dia [& very thin] -7ins
A half-crown 33mm dia-12ins
I've no idea how good or bad this is compared to other machines on the market, these days.Do you have any info?Glad any info.
john

Nice job John. Sounds like it is working well also.
Gotta ask.... What is the can in the 3rd picture? Holes in the sides and "smoke stack" top. You got BBQ smoker there?

Many tnx GD.Please let me know if this is OK.
John

The forum software will let you know if it's not OK by rejecting the photos. They look like they are good to me. They enlarge nicely when you click on them and are very clear. That software that I posted here is very good at not diminishing the photo during resizing.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

that is a garden incinerator for the disposal of leaves and rubbish.

Hi,Jim.Thanks for comments.Jamjars got it in one! It's an incinerator which was left here by the previous owner. It's actually a damn nuisance,it has got 300 to 400 pounds of sand in it!!!
Does anyone else still use the old Sandbanks m/c,do you know?
John
