Go Up Go Down

My names Chuck and I have lived in Southern California for the last 7 years and can't wait to leave. Not because of the weather nor the people but because I'm so far away from what I love to do and that's Dredging for Gold.

I used to live in Northern California and I lived on the North Fork of the Yuba river for 5 months of the year and I loved it. Then I partnered up and after three years I was burnt out from mining and didn't know why till recently, my partner. Now I have my house up for sale and plan to move to Idaho, around Boise, more than likely Caldwell or Middleton. Looking forward to mining again.

My hobbies include Mining (dredging),  Wood working, Polishing rocks and making Jewelry(I'm totally new at this) and soon Metal Detecting. I do own two detectors, Gold Bug and the Whites Eagle. At present I'm trying to make a trade (with gold from the river) for an almost new XLT and a new Minelab 4000.

I can't believe it but it seems Gold is no longer a good trade. I have made about 10 different offers so far on various metal detectors and no one has the slightest idea of what they can do with Gold. Well one knew but needed the cash ASAP. Hell they are selling Gold on eBay and getting around $789 an ounce, by selling it a little at a time by the gram or by selling grains.

But to each thier own, I'll keep trying and one of these days Pow I'll get the trade I want.

Nuff said for now.

Hello Chuck,

thanks a lot for the great intro!

The XLT remains one of my favoruite machines. At one I've even had two XLT  at a time! As many advanced machines it will require quite some training in my oppinion but if you want to do some coinshooting or hunt on a field, there's hardly any otehr machine that can beat it.

You have a new Minelab 40000? This must be the prospecting and probably  relic hunting machine one could imagine! Please tell us a bit more about it when you get a chance to.

I hope it will get you some vey good nuggets!

Chuck, can you please also show us some pictures of your polished rocks?

Best wishes & take care,

Christian

I may not have worded my intro like I wanted to seeing how someone thinks I have the new Minelab 4000. I don't have a minelab 4000 but would sure like to trade for one. Also as for taking pictures of polished rocks and gold, that's going to have to wait for a while. Everything that was not needed around here was packed up for the move when and if it happens. Sorry!

It's sure nice to be welcomed into a new group. If I can be of help to anyone just let me know. I'm totally new to detecting and rock polishing so I won't be much help there but mining and dredging I may be able to help a little.

Thanks for the welcome posts.

Yes Syeve I'm trying to learn to do right though. I still have a ways to go before I will be satisfied and now everything is packed up. So for me ait's a couple steps back in time when I get to start up again.
