I have used DFX for many years and found lots of everything. It is a fine machine. But now i swing a Cortes almost all the time and love it. I have foung more nickels and jewlery with my Tesoro. The tesoros are a pleasure to swing with thier lite weight. My son swings a Delone and does great with that. Now days less adjustments the better. My next machine a Vaq. I just want to go MDing not adjust everthing. Happy hunting to all and good luck.

Slingshot
I consider myself part of the Tesoro Crew.
I not only use them, I am also a Gold Star Tesoro Dealer.
My preference for Tesoro is because of the great products and the Lifetime warranty.
Ken

KoolyKanuk, you are darn right, man! I've had six different tesoros--and even with a 152 buck Compadre-which isn't the best Tesoro by a longshot, I have put a redneck whooping on some folks who thought their 800 buck machines were gonna do wonders-YEEHAW FOR Tesoro!!!!

Tesoros are just so good in trashy places--you can't knock their ability to Ferret out the goodies. i've never tried the Cortes, but then again I'm not a fan of manual ground bal---does that unit have auto ground bal option? I wonder if Deleon is about as good as a Cortes. I know it has auto ground bal or preset.

Larryb its ok to be using an older Tesoro model it just proves the quality of the products that Tesoro makes.I still use my Tesoro Royal Sabre which i bough new a long time ago close to 25 years i guess and rusty just did the first tune up on this detector along with my sons Cutlass  which is close to the same age.have a great season with your older Tesoro.....Markmac

Scout = Compadre with sens knob

Rapier = Former SS ?MAX (with pinpoint button)

Tridesnt 1 = Cibola

Trident 2 = Vaquero

Hawkeye = De Leon + backlight screen.

Some of those detectors can be modified towards 18 Khz.
