Howdy folks,

I'm totally new here and I was just wondering where all you dudes that run Tesoro machines are. Does anybody in here use one of these great detectors? I still use an old antique model that is very hot on silver. At the risk of sounding like a bragger or whatever, I'd like to mention here that I have spanked a few of my detecting buddies a few times with their fancier, more modern and costly machines in the same places in the past, with this ol' out of date unit. At the end of those hunts I've always said, it's not just the machine but how you use it and how you hunt. So if you ever see a guy sweeping through your hood sometime with an old el'cheapo machine, don't assume that it's a pile of junk and he won't find much with it. He may be lookin' to give you a spanking! Cool :Smiley

Swing that thing...

Seems like certain detectors are found regionally. More Garret users in the Southwest. Tesoro users out West.etc.

Stick around- I'm sure there's some here.

Larry,

I also love Tesoro Detectors. Well, I am probably predjudiced as my first machine was a Tesoro but I also like their newer machines.

RIght now I still use a Toltec II a lot. I think Tesoro has some disadvantages in depth over other machines but comes with one of the best discrimination circuits and an amazing customer service.

What model are you using? The Silver Saber?

Regards,

Christian

I have been swinging a Cibola and a DeLeon. Excellent machines with super depth and disc.

I have a DeLeon and a Bandito UMax.  I like Tesoro machines because:
1. They are inexpensive
2. Great warranty.  I bought my two Teroros from Rusty Henry who is the person that gets any Tesoros that are sent back for repair.  He is a nice guy.  He said he sent his daughter through college on the gold he found in Australia with Tesoros.
3. They come apart in short pieces so that you can carry a machine in a backpack.
Check out the "Relic" main topic on Thunting and you will see some wonderful finds I have posted, many of which were found by a Tesoro.
Other detectors are good too.   I also have and old..old Garrett that has found many great things including the 3000 year old Celtic palstaves shown in the RELIC section.  I have an old Fischer Gold Bug too.  It's easy to buy to many machines.  I even had a C Scope which Christian sold for many several years ago.
I think the most important thing is to do your research so you know where good things may lie.  If items are abundant almost any machine with a knowledgable user will be successful.  A lady in our Th'er club uses a Garrett Groundhog in her searching of parks and tot lots.  She brings in more gold items than anyone.
I am writing mostly as a relic and cache hunter.  I rarely search for coins.  I suppose ardent coin hunters have their own special choices.

Hiya boys,

Thanx for the replys. Good to see a few folks so far using these silver loving units in here. I'll keep watchin' for a few more though. Yo Admin, are you ready for this?  :Smiley The unit I use is pretty well, an antique. I love to hunt with my trusty Amigo, which of course, I've really come to know after all these years. Wink

Later,

LarryB
