What happened in 1933 can never happen again. Americans are too stubborn to just turn in all their gold. Thats like asking all American gun owners to surrender their arms!  Fight

Ask a constitutional lawyer. I believe the 1933 suppression of gold ownership was probably unconstitutional.

Gold and guns. They may take them. Then again, they may be sorry they tried. This is America. King George bit off more than he and his army could chew and learned a lesson.  It's a whole new ball game. We've got rednecks we keep chained in the basement and feed raw meat. We have always been under estimated.

IMO, the government will do or attempt to do whatever they think they can get away with.

It is up to us to stop them. It is up to us to enforce the U.S. Constitution when the government decides to ignore it for whatever reason. People are beginning to push back now on some of the stupid stuff the government feels they can impose on it's citizens - too bad they didn't start pushing back when the government felt they had a right to take over the free market and attempt to end capitalism by seizing private corporations and creating government run automotive companies, government run home loans, government run banks and they are continuing to try for government run health care and government run energy production, government run Internet, etc. There is not one successful government program. Look at Social Security, Medicare, Am Track, Post Office, etc. This is a recipe for disaster and that is easily proven by simply looking at the

U.S. National Debt Clock
.

The National Destroyer confiscated gold in 1933 with no Constitutional authority to do so. I have no doubt that this president would try the same thing if he thinks he can get by doing it. Time for the Sheeple to say NO. This is one reason I would not hold on to certificates the government could confiscate them easier and they could prevent their conversion into real gold.

As with finding a treasure, I would never talk about it. Just squirrel your gold away and keep it for when you really need it. If they continue to print money at the same rate they are currently, our dollar will continue to be devalued. As a simplistic example the average loaf of bread is nearing $3.00 today. However, in 1964 a loaf of bread was 21 cents. In 1964 the quarter was worth 25 cents and it was primarily made out of silver. The same quarter from 1964 has a silver content of $3.1991 in today's US dollar. Thus the metal maintains its value while the paper money is worth considerably less. This is unlikely to change any time soon.
People must take responsibility for themselves and their own assets, otherwise they will find the government taking responsibility for everyone else and redistributing their assets to do so.  Thumbs Down

With all due respect, what does our pres. that was raised as a socialist (at the very least) & his
too liberal administration possibly care about the Constitution ? IMO, those at the top, regardless
of party, have an agenda that is not in the best interests of the working class. Remember, the
scariest words we can here are,  'Hello, we're from the Gov't. & we are here to help.'
Soon they may be registering metal directors like they do guns. Tell them nothing.

Ditto, the bandits in our present administration have pushed every boundary of Constitutionality, legitimacy, and decency. I am truly afraid that they will never respect the rule of law again leaving only one horrible, violent alternative. I think Thomas Jefferson would be weeping over his prediction on the tree of liberty.

The alternative is revolution and split the U.S. into separate countries. We are closer to it than you think!
