Hey everyone,
After my morning hunt and a nap I went to a local site once an old park and found
this interesting ring, somebody turned this 1936 nickel into a ring with this silver band.
One of my most interesting finds.  Lips Sealed
Wolfy

Nice....I've enjoyed watching artisans make this transformation.   Takes a steady hand, especially when using a coin with fine detail.

Hi Wolfy, that's a heck of a find. Neat one though. I like those old nickels, but I've never seen one made into a ring. Sue

I don't want to promote any particular artisan, especially since there are some really good ones out there, but if you want to see what some of these folks are doing similar to the ring wolfy found, just google "cut coin jewelry".  A couple of the sites even have some good pictures of how they make these things.

Typical of the government, first they say no you can't debase or defile or mess around with US money.  Then they say it's okay now, we give you permission.  Do you think they gave us the okay to make jewelry out of it because we have no money anymore?  Now all we have is un-money.  Not worth nothing except the full faith and trust of the great and glorious US Government ha.   Forgive me a moment while I snicker and laugh up my sleeve.

Back in the Depression people out work took coins and made art work from them them. The Indian head nickel was the most commine coin used. Usely they would take something sharp change the Indian or the into something else and sell it or trade it for a meal. They were called Hobbo's nickel. This ring may be a from a of this.
