no problem on hex. before there's a pim 1 w/c is only 200 uses. but wizards here made it use forever.

thanks, we have to try this, elbombaci says it's very stable pi md. let's have a try..no probs to the hex to modify we have to consult the author for his permission to unlock the hex.

Elektor #79 1981 VLF MD; Delta Pulse 2 (Elbombaci).

Hi Master Ram

I have built the Delta Pulse 2 in my spare time and I must thank Master Sleepless for his excellent mod. to the Delta Pulse that produced a very stable detector indeed. I'm only an amateur, but enjoy building a metal detector that actually works without too much fuss. I would like to post a picture of my completed Delta Pulse 2 with LCD, but I don't know how to do this right now. The sensitivity to a 1 Euro coin in an air test was 35 cm (there was an improvement in sensitivity by about 10% when I replaced the 16 ohm speaker with a piezobuzzer). I have a great interest in the digital Delta Pulse because I would like to test it (if I decide to build it) for gold jewelry, such as gold rings etc. on the beaches here in South Africa. We have beautiful beaches in Cape Town and it is a favourite destination for holiday seekers.
My question is whether it is possible to purchase the hex file from Master Uykusuz with the decay curve indication (not demo version). I cannot see the point of investing time and money just to build a MD that does not improve on its predecessor, i.e. the Delta Pulse 1.
I will be in Lisboa, Portugal in early January, 2012 and I would be so happy if we could convince Master Uykusuz to help us. We must also not forget the pain and suffering that the people of eastern Turkey are facing after the devastating earthquake recently. I hope that he is safe.

Muito obrigado,  Speedy_G

interesting air test with the 1 Euro coin at 35 cm

if you place the coil on bare ground and wave the coin above the coil what
would be the detection distance then ?
thanks

yes sleepless is maybe safe now, for the pim2 hex maybe we have to ask permission to him for unlocking the hex. for me i'm just keep on studying the schematics for functions and the pcb trace for now. for possible proto and f it will function well then i have to subject it for my evaluation test and the survivability test in different ground condition including the salt water and underground buried objects simulations. w/c my delta pulse from eugene52 schematic survives. be aware also that air test is very different in ground buried. ground buried test can decrease tremendously the penetrating power of pi md.depending the ground condition.
