Gave me a chuckle. Grin Enjoy your Batpan!

Maybe that's what I should do!   Go to Pinos Altos and bag some Gold Dirt to sell?   I could guarantee it had gold in it but not how much.

Hummmm... If I can't find some maybe will take a few of the wifey's rings (she won't miss them Lips Sealed) and feed them to the 12" flat mill file, mix in a little sand from the sand box, a few rocks from the garden and Poof! practice paydirt... Grin Grin

Well, dang  it!  Now look what I went and did.....I just pulled the trigger on a Batpan of my own.  Guess I'd better plan on processing those buckets I've been saving or the wife'll get real po'd.

Welcome to the world of Batpanning where sore arms and aching backs are soothed by the soft glow of color and the sweaty satisfaction of fruitful labor! Smiley

I email Bruce at Batpan to see if he could post a set to Melbourne.
He is willing but the postage makes it impossible $50.00 US postage.
I will have to wait until my prospecting club’s next meeting.
Perhaps I can persuade a few members to get one and save on postage

That's only around 2 grams of gold, mate. I'm talking about both the pan and the shipping.

Go for it.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Exactly! Nickel_n, you'd be surprised at how fast it is to pan out 2 grams if you have the right material. Everything after that is pure gravy.

On a whim, I stopped by a rather large storm drain that winds along the bottom of several large escarpments. There was a service ramp that slopes down to the bottom and was near an gentle inside bend nearby. Grabbed the batpan and worked 3 pans of sand/mud from the leading and trailing edge of the curve and found some specks of color. Unfortunately several chaps who were washing their trucks there decided to stroll over and get curious. Smiled and exited stage right. Thinking of making a few gold traps now...they're more discreet.

Guys you don’t have to convince me. I am a believer.
I just some times get upset that I have to pay so much to UPS. At this instance two and a half times the price of the goods just for shipping
I recon I am one of their biggest supporters.
