Yea, I never understood why they had a shop vac hooked up, or how the air made it worked. I didn't put a hopper or a bellows in my dry washer, wanna guess what happened. My sluice and Dry Washer are sections so I can change them out and go wet/dry or any configuration I want. I actually got the sluice right first time running.

But ty for the birdshot idea. I just don't keep guns around the house, the neighbors might think I'm rich and break in.

Yeah, the whole idea about moving air... it is kinda what brings the whole thing together to work. You should consider watching a bunch of videos on youtube about dry washers. It brings it all into perspective.

Cheers

Sean

Hey Sean, it's where I got the idea. You Tube videos. The gold Exorcist is probably in my future, I just built one to see how they work. You cant see two pieces that make or break the machine in the videos. A friend scanned me a quick draw of one, and I caught my mistakes.

My sluice I didn't think it was working, but there is a few must do's to make one work. The whole purpose of building some like the 49'rs.

What I found, even with the right equipment, you need to have a working idea and sensible approach. Not all ways to collect gold is cost effective.

Two things I didn't figure is what to do once I get the gold, how to get it out of pan, and where to look for gold legally. Its all coming along nicely. Oh, and how to make sure you have gold.

Since you are from NM, you have it made. Make some buddies that can show you the ropes and don't be afraid of craigslist... you can find some killer deals on dry washers in your state.

Cheers

Sean

Wow, that is ugly... in a good broken in way. That thing screams, "I know what the hell I'm doing so why don't you go back and play with your silly toys!" That looks a tic on the heavy side. How does your rig weigh?

Cheers

Sean

This what I have so far. Both boxes can be wet or dry, and will do what ever I want them to. They are light, but not something I would carry into the desert. This is for finding the gold, I bring the buckets back to the house. Wonder where I got that idea from?

I havent finnished the mounts, the bellows,  the hopper, and few other little devices to help it out. It is also not set up at proper angles as It is under plastic when not in use. We get high winds.

I am looking at running this on 18V batterys when finnished. Maybe even a wet dry system. Now all I need is a convetor to a blue wheel, and pipeline to mams minerals to sell it. I could set in my chair all day and pay the neibor kids to feed it for me.

Yep, I could probably use mine it for ramps. But its not proven, well maybe it is, I left the first run in it till I get a pan.

My first run included some black sand cooked up and tried to get some micro gold out of it.

I can get a keene sluice for under a $100 bucks, and a drywasher for a cool $500 bucks so these where just models of the real things.

Got to give ol homefire the kudos, I like that round thingy, I use rare earth magnets. I got some small dc vibrating motors, now all I need is a working example of a shaker table.

That has me wondering what my Keene 151 weighs. I should check it out. I know I can carry it in one arm the engine in another, and a vac pack on the back with the hose easily. Big enough to keep two guys working really really hard.

Cheers

Sean
