I have both the desert fox and the mountain goat both are great and time saveing  . I run the mountain goat to the desert fox and let it do the finding of fine  gold with some jet dry in both . I get all my samples classifed then run them through bot machines  . I run a pump to recurculate the water from one too the other besides the pump that comes with both . Would not give up either one of them for any thing

I was thinking if you cant find the non perforated tube just use some silicon to fill in the holes or some other type of filler. I'm thinking silicon will do nicely fro this Henry device, I'm looking to make one some time      Cool

You could do that GB, just might make cleaning it out a little harder. You could even use a piece of galvanized culvert pipe although it would be tougher to cut. Any pipe with pronounced ridges. If you could find a piece of rubber or plastic mat with ridges you could place it in a pvc tube as well.

We got a Mountain Goat trommel too. It's a neat little machine. I like it but it's really small. Good for people who have limited space and just want to move a little dirt. I did the same thing with ours and put another pump to recirculate to the D Fox.

Here is a link showing the henry I built. Many people posted some neat ideas as well so read through.

Totally agree with Homefire, it's best to use the nonperf if at all possible.

It's cheap and should be anywhere that sells building materials.

Unfortunately when the Geocities webservers went away so did a lot of good free pages. That link is no more  Cry

perforated drain tile has holes, non perforated drain tile does not have holes. Other than that they are the same.

yea i was thinking that, like i said earlier about the silicon i think it would work quite well on the perforated tube. I was thinking there was some differance with the ribbs / riffles. I think there must be a few subtle diferances with the drain tubes that are out there. It may come down to personal choice  as to the best brand / can some sciense say otherwise. Happy hunting  Cool

True some materials may differ as to type and manufacture in other parts of the world. Basically any pipe with reasonably deep ridges will have the same effect. All these machines like the automatic panners, mountain goat trommel, or the henry all work off a gravity principle. You tune the amount of water flow and angle of incline so only the heaviest material is trapped in the ridges and the rest is washed away.
