Drywashers are the most inefficient method of recovering gold with the exception of winnowing. It's no surprise you found gold in gold someone else's tailing pile. That's why you're supposed to run your tailings through the drywasher again so you can increase the recovery rate. Nonetheless- it will still be poor. The recovery rate on water methods like dredging or highbanking is far ahead of any drywasher unit.

No arguements there.....but when your gold is in an area where water is not a plentiful or reliable resource, drywashers become the way to go.

I use those heavy duty rubber bungee cords for vibration insulation. Mount the unit to the frame with them and let it vibrate away in a much quieter way. Plus it enhances the shaking motion. 1.29$ each.

I have 3 drywashers.I have a Gold Duster,a viabrating drywasher and a mini puffer that I made. These past few years all I have used is the mini puffer. The  Gold Duster is so noisey and dusty that I don't like useing it,if I am going to go through alot of material then its great, but I am getting older now I I can't dig like I use to.The viabrating drywasher is ok used in sand but if there is any clay it won't work. The mini puffer is great in all condition,it may not be fast but it's very efficient, makes no noise and does not create much dust. The secrete to a good puffer is where and how you place your dead air spots. When you figure this out you will be able to build a drywasher that will most likly be more efficient than one you can buy.I believe I spent under $10.00 building my mini puffer. So far I have never found another dry washer that I would trade my mini puffer for.

Yep!   If you don't have water, your have to dry wash or Reserve water.

I can do that with 40 gal of water and  bilge pump and and small sluice.

If that is what it take and what I have that is what I do!

I'm starting to build an aluminum drywasher as soon as the knee surgery heals. I've got a few sets of different plans. I'm wanting to design it all out of aluminum. The upper hopper is easy to come up with, it is the bellows box that I'm having trouble wrapping my mind around. The connecting the base to the lower bellews is my area of concern. Any hints?
Dave
