I Found a bar of 2.5 inch steel I use as the pounder or Pestol.

All cost nothing.   Slow but works.  The Steel bar wieghs like 40lbs and makes short work of what ever you can fit in the Post Setter upside down.

Ha yes I see what you have done well the one that I did was the same principle but the pipe diameter is a lot bigger and the center pipe is filed with concrete, the outer pipe is on a tripod (Solid) and you operate it with a bit of elevation actually I think that I should make a sketch of it.

LOL! Thanks Xav. Looks like I'm a rocketman!  Cheesy Manually powered crushers won't do the job, unfortunately. There's a lot of material to get thru.

The small one is good for sampling and estimating gold per ton from a few small samples. Good for a rough estimate. It's certainly not good enough for production processing.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

How about a steam stamp??   They are laying around the fields in the upper peninsula of Michigan.   Might even find a steam engine too!!   Wink

How about a steam stamp

That would be easy to modify to either a diesel engine or electric motor.
